On February 13, 2016, Colombo will be brought to life by the most anticipated musical extravaganza in the youth calendar of Sri Lanka, as the United Nations Club of S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia is set to present their annual fund raiser, ‘Xtaztic’ 2016. This being the 10th edition of the event, it is geared to take the Sri Lankan entertainment arena by storm to a whole new dimension and will undoubtedly be a mind blowing and unforgettable experience for all those present at the Viharamahadevi Park Amphitheatre. It will take a ‘Simple but Classy’ theme yet concealing the Club’s classical trends, hence optimizing Xtaztic for a night of entertainment and excitement. The event is set to kick off at 7pm.

Instituted in 2006, Xtaztic has been known for continuously giving upcoming artistes a platform to showcase their talents to the country, as this stage has propelled many singers to stardom. Artistes such as Battery, The Sherifs (signed on by Sony Music International) and Ryan (member of Voice Print) who gave their debut performance at this prestigious event, quite rightly called so, are now among Sri Lanka’s top bands. In addition, singers including Bathiya & Santhush, Magic Box Mix-up, Black, Baccara Maskers, Electro Mechanic & Aelesha to name a few, have taken centre stage at Xtaztic and propelled it from strength to strength, year after year.

This year is headed to be yet another monumental event that will be chronicled in the pages of Sri Lankan entertainment history. Xtaztic 2016 boasts of an exclusive line up of the country’s most renowned artistes and a spectacular audio-visual experience, will include The Sherifs who are an Euromerican influenced band and has released major labels under Sony Music International and Universal Music UK, Glory who consist of a combination of five of the most extraordinary musicians bringing us music from the 70's, 80's, 90's along with songs from the modern music era in all music genres and styles, DJ Clifford Issac who has sheer passion in the world of Electronic Dance Music and continues to receive colossal feedback both from within the island and the international arena, Jayy Vibes who is one of the finest talents of the country and has played alongside some of the best international DJ's such as Avicii and Paul Thomas, and Sri Lanka’s best beatboxing duo Julius Mitchell & Dineli Sun featured as the professionals will spearhead the show, along with the youth band Infinity, Nimaya Harris from Ladies’ College and our very own Dhanuk Fernando from S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia will all receive a chance to showcase the immense talent and potential within them.

The previous edition of Xtaztic was a much acclaimed success as the event went off smoothly with a turnout of over 1500 people, and brought staggering profits to the school. These profits are always used to fund the Clubs various charity donation projects carried out throughout the year.

In 2016, the main aim of Xtaztic is to generate funds to support our brother school, S. Thomas’ Preparatory School, Kollupitiya. The school is in urgent need of funds for their new infrastructural development, thus this concert would look to contribute a substantial percentage of its profits towards this cause. The rest of the profits are used for our annual health camp, which is generally conducted in an extremely remote part of Sri Lanka. The vision of the health camps is to reach out to less fortunate communities and manipulate the resources that are available to us in abundance to help alleviate their poor qualities of living and standards of life. During these camps, our Club provides specialized treatment for the most common illnesses in the area along with free specialized medication to people who have no access to a hospital or any medical assistance whatsoever.

The young Thomians of the United Nations Club of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia will unite together and combine the months and months of their hard work and sincere commitment into one marvellous piece on 13th February 2016 at the Viharamahadevi Park Amphitheatre, where Xtaztic will undoubtedly take place in exuberant and exquisite manner.

Tickets are priced at Rs. 1000 and are available with all members of the United Nations Club of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, at the Commons Coffee House and at the venue on the day of the event.
