Why do you love travel?

I love travel as that is the time I get to relax totally.

Your favourite travel destination and why?

I love wildlife so it has to be South Africa.

What do you need for a perfect holiday?

I have a few “must haves” which include a beach or pool, good food, a clean room and some peace and quiet.

In which country have you felt most at home?

Nothing beats Sri Lanka.

Most unusual souvenir you have brought home?

Copper coloured sand from Thambapani, Sri Lanka!

Favourite holiday discovery?

In the Maldives I discovered my fishing skills.

Worst holiday or travel experience?

Getting off loaded in Male and not being able to find a place to stay.

Best piece of travel advice?

Expect the unexpected!

Your top five travel destinations?

South Africa, Maldives, England, Thailand and Sri Lanka - which has plenty of undiscovered places.

What has travel taught you?

Not to plan too much and to go with the flow.

Which country did you taste the best ever cuisine?

For me there is nothing like a good pol sambol, dhal, dry fish and rice.

Next travel destination?

Vietnam.
