Today the world of photography is big, and you see new talent everyday, and it's amazing that you have so much of options to choose from. Today on the #SUPPORTINGTALENT edition to Buzz With Danu, I feature the man made in China , Tai – more than his creative outlook to photography he knows how to make the person feel at home when he clicks a pic. What has been the most inspiring moment in the job you do?
I think every moment I am with a client it’s always an inspiration. I always see something different in what others take for granted.
How demanding is it to work?
I wouldn’t call it demanding, it’s always a challenge. Challenge to be a better me. We need to make sure that those demands/challenges are met by improving oneself.
What made you become a photographer?
I always had this “snapping” thing. Taking pictures of friends using my camera phone which was a Nokia 6630 at that time. I always had this knack to engage in bubbly conversations with people and getting to know them. Which cannot be done sitting on a chair behind a desk. So I said good bye to that and took up photography and never looked back.
What did you want to be when you were young?
I wanted to be a vegetable, so I don’t need to take baths and go to school. Just kidding, I wanted to be in the SWAT.
What do you enjoy when you read “The Buzz with Danu”?
What other awesome people have to say about themselves and how they became that awesome. It’s also very entertaining! You do a great job, Danu.
What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
Strengths would be helping to keep my brides awesome during a wedding day and making them feel fabulous. Helping people who want to grow in this industry of photography. Weakness would be when a new camera is launched and I feel soft and weak for a few days.
What is your normal day like, between work and home?
It’s a tough call but we need to make sure both sides are balanced. A normal day would be waking up to my wife’s WhatsApp messages (they are outstation these days), exercise, start working (editing, taking calls, going for meetings, staying awesome, watching inspirational photographers on YouTube, staying up to date with a few forums around the world), go to sleep by 11.
How would you describe your work style?
I actually have no clue, but I would say well prepared. Every day is different, each person I meet is different and everything is a challenge. So being prepared is the best way.
Who is your favourite local personality?
Local? None actually.
How do you handle difficult clients?
You know me Danu. I am always chill, calm and competent. After I engage in conversation with clients from the start of my work I always keep them updated. Give them options. At the end of the day it’s rare I have difficult clients. Also a few of them had told me “I am normally a difficult person, but you worked your magic and I am happy with the service provided.” It’s always a challenge but through experience I know how to handle it.
In the Spot?
What would you say is the biggest challenge in the industry today?
- Competition on price
- Competition on awareness
- A flooded market where it is difficult to be innovate
There are a lot of photographers, how is the competition?
To me it’s nothing. Zero. I don’t take anyone as a competitor more as an inspiration. Also the only competition I have is with myself. To improve and be someone more than who I was a few months back.
Your personal favourite model?
Danu Innasithamby

Frame my family, shoot my in-laws and hang them on my wall.
