Wedding Photographers - ShadeTree Productions
Tell us a little bit about what you do.
We are wedding and portrait photographers. We cover weddings of all religions.
What would you say is the toughest part of your job?
The toughest part would be to get the client to relax in front of the camera, because most of them are camera shy. (But Lipton is really good at doing that – the clients love him!)
What’s the biggest last minute crisis you’ve had in your career?
We had a wedding where the bride was 30 minutes late and the priest started without her. The poor groom was standing at the altar alone. Fortunately the bride arrived right at the part where the rings were to be exchanged! We had to help keep her from crying; telling her to breathe. It turned out just fine!
How do you deal under pressure during a crisis?
The best way to handle problems is to keep smiling and figure it out.
What are some of the last minute slip-ups that happen that you deal with but wouldn’t tell the couple?
One time we had a situation one of the photographers got sick during the wedding. We managed the whole day without client asking or noticing us being one down.
What are the last minute crises that a couple should be aware of and how do they tackle it or prevent it?
The couple should never take any responsibilities on of the wedding, i.e. running around arranging things! But on our aspect there are 3 things a couple should be aware of;
1. They need to make a list for group pictures prior to the wedding. One time a couple forgot to get their grandmother in for a photo!
2. They need to choose a dresser who is known to be on time and finishes on time.
3. They need to designate one person (usually a bossy relative) to be the ‘CEO’ of the weddingto keep things running smoothly.
