Get ready to rumble with the Peterite Vehicle Parade for the 8th consecutive time 

The annual Peterite Vehicle Parade returns to the streets of Colombo on the 12th of March 2016. Keep your schedule free for the Blue, White and Gold vehicle extravaganza. Staying true to their school motto, the organizers plan to create an exciting event for spectators and fellow participants. 

The story of how it all began 

An accomplishment that began back in the year 2009 as just an ordinary idea of amusement and sportsmanship among the OBU in order to support the annual Joe-Pete big match by the creative duo, Shanaka Gunasekera and Lashan Ranasinghe. The event has come a long way since then, having started with a mere number of 30 vehicles in 2009, the numbers slowly rose each year and ended with a staggering number 700 vehicles and over 2500 attendees in 2015. The popular trend caught on with the fellow Peterites as the enthusiasm grew marginally well enough to expand the excitement and organization. 

Uniting the past and the present for 2016 

This year the Parade is expected to have over 850 vehicles and more than 3000 spectators and participants.  Those among our esteemed sponsors and partners are Music TV, TNL Radio, Morning Power, Redbull, Flexus Labs, Daily Mirror, Thepapare.com, NowYouSeeMe, Revolution Portfolio, Vevra, Esoft and Metro Campus. 

Each year having witnessed incredible support from the general public and the loyal present and past pupils of St. Peter’s College, it is no doubt a tremendous morale booster towards the school’s Cricket Team to excel at the Big Match. The organizing committee has also requested the general public to stay clear of Marine Drive on the day of the parade due to blockage of traffic. 

For those who are passionate about cricket and cars, this is the parade to beat for the year 2016 as the proud past and present Peterites join forces to set ablaze Marine Drive with their merriment towards to a sweeping victory.
