Why do you love travel?

Because I get to meet new people and make new friends. To experience the beauty of each country in every aspect and to experience the way of life.

Your favourite travel destination and why?

New Zealand, for its gorgeous scenery and also the laidback life. The little cosy cafes with yummy coffee / hot chocolate. Not to mention the loads of adorable looking sheep grazing in the countryside. Of course the fact that most of the restaurants and shops close by 6pm or 7pm the latest which can be a bit inconvenient.

What do you need for a perfect holiday?

To kick up my feet in an awesome surrounding, enjoying the food and a good book and hopefully a friend to share the experience with too.

In which country have you felt most at home?

Mauritius. Because of the lovely beaches and the fact that I was able to walk to almost any place because the country was so small.

Most unusual souvenir you have brought home?

Well I am not sure you could call it a souvenir as such but I brought reindeer meat from Sweden for a friend of mine.

Worst holiday or travel experience?

Was when my friends had most of their cash stolen from the apartment in Mauritius after it was broken into. It was heartwrenching because most of them lost their entire savings. Also when I was on holiday in India, whilst traveling in the Shatabdi Express train to Agra, when I looked out the window I saw all these people squatting on top of walls. On enquiry I found out that this was how they relieved themselves due to lack of proper toilets.

Best piece of travel advice?

Travel light - take only the essentials as much as possible. Always have Google Maps at hand. Plan a bit but don’t be confined to it and don’t pack your itinerary so much that you end up rushing from place to place with no time to enjoy. It is also good to check out the places you plan to stay in and their ratings cos sometimes other travelers have some good advice.

Your top five travel destinations?

New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Eygpt and Mauritius.

What has travel taught you?

To appreciate other countries cultures and their ways of life. To be thankful for everything in my life cos there are people out there who are happy whilst going through more hardships and much less material things.

Which country did you taste the best ever cuisine?

Sweden. I visited my best friend during Easter and the spread on the table was mind blowing. Not to mention unusual. I also loved their sandwich spread in a tube, named Kavli, which is varied flavours with cheese.

Next travel destination?

Australia.
