How to Clean Your Hairbrush
When’s the last time you cleaned your hairbrush? Like really cleaned it? If your guilty expressions are anything to go by, here’s why you should - you brush, if uncleaned for a while, is home to dust, oil, conditioner, germs and yes, even dust mites. A clean brush does also, in fact, make a difference to your hair when you brush it.
Remove hair from brush
Most people prefer to use a toothpick to loosen and extricate hair tangled to the brush, others use pens and the like. You can also use a comb to remove hair stuck between bristles.
Soak your brush
There will undoubtedly be leftover dust and stray hairs that a toothpick or pen won't help remove. So soak the brushes in warm tap water with baby shampoo or any other gentle shampoo. You may also choose to hold your brush under warm running water.
Remove excess debris from brush
Use an old toothbrush to gently scrub out any excess remnants from your brush. If you’re too harsh, the brushes bristles may fall out, so do take care to be gentle.
Allow to dry
Dry the brush using a towel or let it air dry.
Clean your brush after every 1-2 weeks of use
For those who suffer from frequent hair fall, most of your hair will end up in your brush. Besides, things get dirtier and collect dust much faster in Sri Lanka, and your brush is of no exception. This is why we recommend cleaning your hairbrush after a minimum of 1-2 weeks of usage.
