She’s been whipping up delicious batches of brownies ever since she was a teenager and even though she enjoys baking other things such as cakes and cupcakes, brownies have been a staunch favourite.

“I have been working in the corporate industry for quite some time now and I am trying to do some freelance work for corporate communications at the moment. And one of the few things that I really like to do is to have and make connections with people so I am hoping that this business works well for me. Besides, you can never go wrong with food,” She admits that she doesn’t bake everyday yet as her business isn’t even a month old. She makes variations, such as a batch with Irish cream or with nuts. When placing an order, customers can tell her their requirements.

And judging by friends who have ordered Thushanthi’s brownies, they go great with whipped cream and strawberries or a generous dollop of vanilla ice cream. A chewy, gooey brownie with ice cream does sound awfully tempting.

Thushanthi requires 24 hours in advance for an order and the minimum order is a dozen pieces although she does take requests for half a dozen. Thush’s Podi Brownie Business is on Facebook, so do check them out for all your gooey brownie cravings.
