I know. I know. It’s not the most difficult dish to make and certainly not the most fanciest. All you need is some ketchup and onions and you’re nearly done. BUT this is exactly what makes this is the perfect bite one can cook up when guests (with their brood) turn up at your door step unannounced.
You cannot go wrong because everyone loves sausages. Spicing it up this way will only make you their favorite host.
Ingredients
7-8 Chicken Sausages | 1 Onion |
2 Capsicums | 1-2 Green Chilies |
1 Tomato | 1 Tsp of Garlic Paste |
1 Tsp of Chilli Powder | 1 Tbs of Chili flakes |
1 Tsp of grated Ginger | 3 Tbs of Ketchup |
1 Tbs of Soy Sauce | 2-3 Tbs of Warm Water |
1 Tbs of Vegetable Oil | Salt |
Pepper | |
Directions
Fine dice the onion.
Chop the Tomato, Capsicum and chilies in to thick pieces.
Slice the sausages and set aside.
In a separate bowl stir in the Ketchup, Soy sauce, Chilli flakes and water to make a sauce.
On a medium high flame, heat up the oil in a heavy based pan.
Add the onion, ginger, garlic paste and chilies and sauté for a few minutes.
Then add the sliced sausages and fry for few minutes until the sausages start changing colour.
Add the capsicum, tomato, chili powder and stir for few seconds.
Stir in the sauce and cook for a minute on a low flame.
Add salt and pepper according to taste and turn off the flame.
Serve while hot.
Disasters, Warnings and Tips
Be careful as sausages tend to over fry and wrinkle.
I added the capsicum a bit later in order to retain their natural crunchiness.
Use garlic cloves instead of paste if you prefer.
The residue sauce is excellent to be wiped clean with some buttered bread.
Excellent recipe when you have guests and only a packet of sausages in the freezer.
