As mystifying as the name is, it definitely does not disappoint on satisfying the taste buds.

It’s not a doughnut and not completely French toast, but instead a delectable combination that along with a cup of hot chocolate or your teatime cuppa will soothe any troubled soul. Otherwise it can also be made into a fancy desert accompanied with a fruit sauce.

Doughnut French toast should definitely be tried at least once in your lifetime for to go without would be NOT to experience culinary heavenliness and that simply would be tragic. Avoid a tragedy try some toast!

60 ml full fat milk

4 slices white bread, thinly cut from a loaf

25 grams butter

1 drop vegetable oil (flavourless) for frying

50 grams caster sugar

Method

Beat the eggs with the milk and vanilla in a wide, shallow bowl. Soak the thin bread halves in the eggy mixture for 5 minutes a side.

Heat the butter and oil in a frying pan, and fry the egg-soaked bread until golden and scorched in parts on both sides.

Put the sugar on a plate and then dip the cooked bread in it until coated like a sugared doughnut.
