During the festive season, ones’ kitchen is filled with the delights of the season. From homemade Christmas cookies to the bejeweled rich cake and occasional decedent chocolate delight, our hearts and stomachs sing with the merriment of the season.

 

 

Despite my love for any desert I am quite vary on the ones that’s I will try to make, since I’m all together aware of my lack in culinary polishment.

But these puff pastry squares were truly a gastronomic  revelation. Comforted by layer upon layer of buttery pastry delightedness smothered in rich, syrupy delectable jam, this TRUELY is a fantastic dessert to serve to any wayward caroler in this festive season. Happy Holidays.


Ingredients:

1 package (17.3 ounces) Puff Pastry Sheets, thawed
1 egg
1 Tablespoon water
Filling
Jam of your choice

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.


Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.


Beat the egg and water in a small bowl with a fork; Set aside.


Unfold 1 pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.


Cut the pastry sheet into 9 (3-inch) squares. Repeat with the remaining pastry sheet.


Place half of the pastry squares onto a parchment lined baking sheet.


Top each with a spoonful of jam of your choice.


Brush the edges of the pastry circles with the egg wash. Place the remaining pastry squares over the filling. Press the edges firmly to seal.


Using a sharp knife or a pair of kitchen shears, cut two small slits in the top of each filled pastry.


Bake for 15 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown on the top and the bottoms. Let the pastries cool before eating. Then cover the pastry square with a spponful of honey topped off with some fruit or whipped cream.

    All your recipes use food that comes in packets or cans in the supermarket. Anyone can do these. If you want to publish desert recipes, at-least learn to make your own pastry batter.
