With the kids at home for summer holidays we are always on the search for cooling treats after a day full of fun. These Orange Marshmallow Pops are the needed refreshment on those long sweltering tropical afternoons.
They are so easy to make that you can even rally the troops aka your children, to help you assemble these delightful goodies. These Pops can only be thoroughly enjoyed when eaten in multitude so make sure you make enough to feed the sweet-toothed masses. Stay Cool!
1 cup boiling water
1 pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O Orange Flavor Gelatin
½ cup orange juice
2 cups vanilla ice cream, softened
12 Marshmallows
First add boiling water to gelatin mix in a medium bowl; stir thoroughly for two minutes until completely dissolved. Then let it cool slightly.
Gradually add orange juice and gelatin to ice cream in large bowl, beating with mixer after each addition until all has been thoroughly blended.
Insert a wooden pop stick into center of each marshmallow. Place, marshmallow-end down, in each of 12 (5-oz.) paper or plastic cups. Spoon about 1 Tbsp. gelatin mixture into each cup; freeze 30 min. or until slightly firm.
If oranges are not popular in your household you can do with any other juice. But we found the sweet orange flavoured mixes very well with the vanilla ice-cream. A thundering success that will cause a taste explosion in each cooling, tangy bite!
