Removing the hassle from meticulous cutting and chopping ingredients and blending spices together to create the perfect curry in your kitchen, Koluu has created his very own signature range of spices and seasoning mixes, where all you have to do is add water and/or coconut milk for beyond delicious results.
This latest culinary venture of Sri Lanka’s flamboyant celebrity chef will ensure nothing less of convenience in your kitchen as the mixes have been designed to recreate curries with authentic Sri Lankan flavours guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds.
Speaking at the launch of Spice It Up, Koluu expressed his satisfaction at having this dream turn into reality. “Cooking has always been a passion for me and we all know the lengths we take when it comes to getting a curry made, and there’s a lot of work involved. We need to get the consistency correct and these mixes are ideal for that busy housewife,” he further stated.
The biggest advantage of using Spice It Up is the ease with which it allows any cook to master usually complex flavours, and meals can be prepared with minimal effort thus saving a great deal of time and resources.
Once the meat, fish or vegetables have been seasoned or sautéed in the spice mix, all you have to do is add coconut milk and cook for a few minutes.
There are 17 varieties of the mixes, some of which include local favourites such as Fish Mustard Curry, Ambul Thiyal, Mutton Pol Kiri Baddun, Chicken Red Curry and Beef Pepper Curry. Koluu’s new endeavour has been developed in partnership with the Rich Brand who has been supplying caterers, hotels and supermarkets for over two decades.
Rich Brand sources their raw material from growers located all over the country and their products maintain a strict standard of consistent quality. Waste is minimized through the use of modern packaging and optimized grinding equipment.
The Spice It Up range of mixes has ISO 22000 certification, and they will be available at all leading supermarkets from next week.

Sep 12, 2014 at 12:00 amHi there, I fell in love with Koluu's spices when I traveled to Maldives. But the biggest problem is that I now live in U.S. California. Where can I buy that? Is there any website that I can order it from overseas? Thanks a million!
