Homemade Cakes and Cupcakes

The festive season calls for heaps of Christmas Cake and Love Cake and one of the many places from where you can order some of these well loved festive treats from is Homemade Cakes and Cupcakes, I want more!

Thushari Perera is the whiz behind all the goodies at Homemade Cakes and Cupcakes I want more. She doesn’t just make these festive goodies but right through the year you can place your orders with her for various types of cakes and cupcakes as well as home-made chocolates and drinks like strawberry and chocolate milk as well as iced coffee.

She caters to a number of corporates in Colombo who order her cupcakes and cakes for various occasions. Her goodies include desserts made with sponge cake layered with whipped cream and topped with fresh strawberries – which is not overly sweet, since it is a light dessert it might be ideal to serve your guests this festive season.

Thushari also makes festive themed cupcakes as well as cupcakes for birthdays and weddings. The flavours include vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Her cakes come topped with either butter icing or fondant and she can create just about anything you ask her. “I spend a lot of time making these treats and during this season I get to bed past 2am,” she says with a smile adding that she has been taking orders for nearly a year now.

She stresses on the fact that she uses only the best ingredients and once an order is places you can either pick it up from her residence in Kandana or get it delivered and if your bill is over Rs 5,000 delivery is free.

Thushari says she was always interested in baking, in order to better her work she followed classes while still in school and still continues to do so, so as to learn the newest tricks of the trade. “I wouldn’t be able to cope with my orders, especially during this season, if not for the help I get from my husband and kids.”
