This week, the Food Factor’s newest haunt would be Park Street Mews - not because the restaurant is five minutes away from our office but because of the Executive Lunch Deal, priced at Rs.999nett. A super deal we thought. You can choose your own 3-course menu (starter, main course and dessert) plus a chilled fizzy drink and simply indulge.

Starters feature a range of dishes ranging from cream of pumpkin soup or soup of the day, fried calamari with tartar sauce and salad, tuna and potato salad, prawn and avocado cocktail in addition to select vegetarian options such as Greek salad, marinated mozzarella tomato, grilled vegetables, Vietnamese rice paper rolls and fresh fruits marinated with lemon and oil. Picking the calamari and rice paper rolls, I’d have to say that the calamari hit the right spot for comfort food.

Dipping the crispy calamari in cold tartar sauce, this was the perfect start to my 3-course lunch. Having said so, I didn’t enjoy the Vietnamese rice paper rolls as much as I thought I would as they lacked the flavour I was looking for. Fresh bread in a basket is provided along with the starter.

Next was the main course. The list of items on the main course menu feature Thai green fish curry with steamed rice, seafood linguini, barbequed chicken with saffron rice and vegetables, pan-fried fish with lemon garlic and caper sauce with penne Arabiata. There are two vegetarian options on the menu, namely the mushroom ravioli and vegetable korma with steamed rice, raita and papadum.

Digging into the seafood linguini, I was impressed by the generous amount of actual seafood in the pasta. Prawns, cuttlefish and fish galore, this linguini is quite large in portion size and not too spicy and just right in terms of flavour thus declared a must try.

For those of you who have the compulsive need to tuck into rice and curry for lunch everyday, the Thai fish curry and steamed rice does justice to your tummy. Or opt to indulge in any of the other rice dishes which are just as filling.

Two courses down and the best one for last - dessert! An indulgent brownie and nut sundae for me, which features scoops of vanilla ice cream and chopped pieces of brownie topped with chocolate sauce and nuts.

Other dessert options include the frozen chocolate mousse, banana whipped cream crepe topped with chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream with berry and chocolate sauce and brownies with ice cream. Fresh fruits are also on the dessert bandwagon.

Reservations can be made on 0112300133. The Executive Lunch Deal is available from Monday to Friday from 12PM to 3PM.
