COLOMBO, Sri Lanka – January 6, 2014 …Spring festival or Chinese New Year is celebrated in China on the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month of the Chinese calendar.

This colorful festival lasts 23 days and ends on the 15th day of the first lunar month in the following year in the Chinese calendar. 

Hilton Colombo’s authentic Chinese restaurant, the Emperor’s Wok will celebrate Chinese New Year by offering diners a unique dining experience where some of the Chinese traditions could be experienced from 7th to 31st of January during lunch and dinner.

This year is said to be the year of the Horse.

Two special set menus will be on offer during this period. The famous Wasabi prawns, Wok fried pork belly with fresh chilli, braised eggplant with Szechuan sauce are just to name a few of the dishes that will be available. T

here will be “Angpao” for kids who dine in and every guest will receive fortune cookies with surprise gift vouchers Angpao is a red envelope or a red packet containing money that the Chinese community gives each other for good luck on special occasions.

Emperor’s Wok famous for its authenticity specializes in Dim Sum where guests can enjoy various kinds of steamed, fried or braised dim sum. Diners can enjoy “all you can eat Dim Sum” every Saturday, Sunday and poya day.
