views 1118The biggest tea brand in the world, Lipton Tea set up a one of a kind tea room at one of the biggest events on the Sri Lankan calendar.
Lipton Tea in partnership with Tea Talk were at the Fairway Galle Literary Festival 2017 from the 12th to the 14th of January.
The Lipton Tea Room was set up in the hub of the Festival venues, offering a great setup for festival goers to take a break from the scorching sun and grab a snack while sipping on a refreshing Lipton tea. The Lit cafe offered free iced and hot tea and the Lipton tea room served all the food
The Lipton Tea Room offered the right space, great ambience, revitalising drinks and the best food. The primary focus of the Tea Room was to find the best tea fit for different dishes.
At the Tea Room, guests were offered a variety of exotic tea flavours, both hot and cold to choose from, all reasonably priced between Rs.100 - Rs.150. Tea flavours included ‘Spice and Nice’ with Ceylonta Ginger Tea, ‘Feeling Flirtea’ with pomegranate, ‘Mango Sutra’ with Jaffna Mango and ‘Tropical Ecstasy’ with fruits of Ceylon among many others.
The highlight of the Tea Room was the marriage between food and tea. The Tea Room offered a variety of dishes ranging from appetizers to mains and desserts paired together with the perfect tea to complement the food.
The menu was a well curated one, offering customers a selection that’s almost impossible to choose from, as to what they wanted to eat!
Chicken Ham and Cheese or Grilled Vegetable stuffed Panini’s were paired with The Blushing Bride (strawberry cream) tea at Rs. 380.
Pasta’s such as the Southern Ocean Seafood Penne Pasta in Creamy Cheese sauce with Wok Fried Chilly Prawns was served with the Coastal Zen tea (Green tea with Chamomile) at Rs. 650 while Sri Lankan Spiced Pasta Arrabiata topped with Pickled Mango and Pineapple was served with Sweet and Fiery tea (Earl Grey with Red Pepper) at Rs. 590.
For mains, the Tea Room had two mouthwatering dishes that were crowd favourites. The Mix Herb marinated Grilled Chicken wrapped in Banana Leaf with Lemon Garlic Rice and Creamy Curry sauce was served with the Lankan Zest tea (Coconut and cream) at Rs. 750 while the Dill infused Grilled Lobster Gratin with Dijon Mustard Parmesan with Lemon Garlic Rice and Parsley Lemon Butter sauce was served with the Sun-Kissed Trail tea at Rs. 950.
To give customers the best experience, Lipton Tea Room also created an atmosphere of relaxation and fun by introducing a range of activities like live performances by Umaria, Stephanie Sansoni, Chithru and The Bakery as well as magic acts, story readings, quizzes, trivias and tea demonstrations. There was never a dull moment at the Tea Room with the crowd constantly entertained by one thing or another.
Redefining the concept of how customers enjoy tea, the Lipton Tea Room was the height of success with crowds of people occupying the space looking for some great refreshments and a place to relax.
