Life Online speaks to Shamini Andrea, a model on the rise.

She is one of the simplest models I have ever met; has lots of experience but yet is humble. She confesses she is a social bee and she is very popular with her friends.

Her mystical looks come from a mix of Australian and Sri Lankan heritage. She is into modelling but she is also working at a reputed broadcast media organisation here in Sri Lanka.

Here is Shamini; up close and personal..

If you had to rate your beauty on a scale of 1 to 10 – what would your rating be?

I would prefer not to answer that question, because I think everyone is beautiful in their own sense, and me being a model doesn't mean I’m self-centred enough to actually rate myself.

What offends you the most?

I try not to let anything offend me, I take the good and the bad hand in hand, but I do find people who are two-faced offensive.

Are you an optimist?

There are times when I do act quite pessimistic, but I try to be optimistic whenever possible. It’s an attitude that I think that everyone should have.

What was the turning point in your life?

The turning point in my life would have to be when I realised who in my life were genuine and who weren't. I figured who my true friends and family were, and I took the initiative to be thankful to those people and work harder through their influences to be a better person.

Do you enjoy your current day time job?

Of course I do, I wouldn't do it if I didn't, any job is taxing. But hard work pays off, and I love doing what I do.

Do you believe in astrology and superstition?

Well I do, to some extent. Let’s just keep it at that.

What’s your favourite casual wear?

A pair of shorts and a comfortable t-shirt.

Do you believe in Hindi movies or Hollywood love stories?

That depends on what context you are asking, because for any love story to be made in a movie it has to be inspired by a real life incident (that's what I think), however I do think that some movies take it to extremes and I don't humour that, but hey! they are called movies for a reason!

Who is your ideal man?

A man who will care for me and be there for me, and support me and love me every step of the way.

If you can turn back time, where would you go?

I don't believe in turning back time, I believe that there's only one way to go and that's forward, i.e. the future.

If you get a job offer to be a hitman with a six figure pay - will you accept it?

I know that would never happen. But for conversation’s sake, and imagination’s sake I’m going to say YES!

A bunch of unintelligent silly questions. Why not ask her what her background, education and aspirations etc., are and not these silly B/S questions?.
