The Best Dressed List - December 2015
Every month we do a roundup of events that played host to some of the most sartorially savvy, polished, eclectic, and stylish of dressers. In December these people impressed with their style, their poise, their ability to pull a unique look together and were the most soigne of the soigne for the month.
Sonali Dharmawardena
Kimarli
This look is by no means groundbreaking, but it's insanely flattering. Maybe it's the beautiful silhouette, or her skin colour against the red hue, but one way or another, we are glad Kimarli decided to wear it. She looks absolutely fantastic and the nude accessories complement perfectly.
Park Street Mews Christmas Lights
Yehali
The tight fitted top contrasts her flared midi skirt and the simple silhouette breaks up the busy batik. Her Nicholas Kirkwood shoes are fab and lend a slightly futuristic air to the whole ensemble.
Lux
Sandra
The picture of chic. Her shaded ombre dress is a beautiful shape on her and paired with simple black leggings is truly lovely. Her jewelled sandals add just the right amount of visual interest.
Sahan
It takes a brave man to wear pink trousers and an even cooler man to pull it off so well. He’s mixed street-wear and classic tailoring and created a great overall look.
Ramani Fernando Hair Art
Ramani Fernando
Ramani's outfit hits all the right notes. The monochromatic colour palette and her minimal styling helps to ensure that her skirt remains the focal point. This look right here is why Ramani is the fashion icon that she is.
Collectors Desk
Nilu
Simple, clean and modern are a few words that come to mind when we see this lovely outfit. Though there isn't a ton of detail in her look, the fabulous scarf with its intricate lace detailing helps to push this ensemble into fashion-forward territory.
Colombo Comedy Show
Rajiv
A modern and fresh take on the standard chinos and blazer. He’s got the whole new age dapper vibe going and wears it well.
Celebrate The Sounds of Christmas
Chandi
Simple, elegant, classic, and worked to enhance her natural beauty instead of detract from it.
Leo Burnett Carols
Shalin
No matter where he is Shalin is always impeccably dressed and it’s always great to see local designers being sported on the red carpet. He always looks sleek, but still maintains that 'just thrown on' feel that defines cool.
Rishini
Sometimes black and white is best. Rishini looked sleek in her dress. The pops of colour in her YSL clutch and lipstick make her outfit playful, which is ideal for a night of partying.
Buddhi Batiks Collection Launch
Darshi
A wonderful ambassador for her brand, Darshi’s dress is fabulous in colour, cut and fit. The shoulder cut out detailing adds a little something special to make her stand out from the crowd.
Anarkali
Polished with minimal makeup ensures that she looks effortlessly fabulous. This outfit is so chic and a big part of its success has to do with the texture and pattern in her ensemble. Paired with a simple Miu Miu clutch and statement necklace Anarkali looks great.
Angeline
There are so many things that are right with this outfit, the simple silhouette of this Buddhi Batik dress, the gradient colours, the tassel necklace. The colour, pattern and cut all work together to make her look fabulous.
