Trends n Trinkets has specialized in selling the most fashionable quality accessories to people of all age groups, at a very reasonable price. The store was established in late 2012 by NIBM students, Shakeel Mohamed, Lahiru De ruberu and Michelle tanner.
Why did you choose to start the store online?
We had a dream of establishing of our own business from the very first day at NIBM, so we carried out a series of researches about businesses which are easy to set up with less capital investment. Because we students didn’t have sufficient capital to put up a physical store, we decided to start a virtual store which could provide solutions for fashion needs.
Describe some of the different collections you have?
Currently we sell a collection of vintage accessories ranging from gorgeous necklaces to trendy rings. Most of them are made out of alloy metal, bronze, silver plated and gold plated alloy metal.
According to our customer’s request, we have now expanded our collections with men’s accessories, sunglasses, gift items and beauty care items for women.
How do you select each piece and where are they sourced from?
Most of the items in our store are imported from one of our friends, who runs a jewelry store in Hong Kong. She sends us the sample of bestselling items in her store. We check the quality of them and if we are satisfied with it, we import them to Sri Lanka .
Does the store offer any special deals/discounts?
Yes we do offer special discounts to our beloved customers. We offer seasonal discounts during festival seasons and special days like Valentine ’s Day ,etc..due to our rock-bottom prices, we do charge a postage but as a special deal we charge postage only for the three items of an order exceeding more than three items at a time
How does the sale and delivery procedure work?
Our method of sale is we request our customers to drop us a message on our Facebook page with the product code of the items they wish to buy. Then we reply them about the delivery method and payments details. If they are satisfied and have decided to buy our item, they pay us through Dialogue ez cash or deposit to our bank account.
We post the item to them within one day once the payment is made. The items would reach them within 2-3 working days. Upon special requests, we also offer door step delivery and courier service.
How have sales been since starting the store and what has the customer feedback been like?
The progress of our sales have been very successful from the day Trends n Trinkets was founded. This is mainly because customers are satisfied with the quality and competitive price of the items in our store.
They feel that our prices are relatively reasonable and low compared to other stores. They are also satisfied with the items because we sell items which look exactly the same as in the picture and according to product description.
What can we expect from the store in the future?
We are planning to expand our business in the future, currently we are concentrating on selling various range of jewelry items and accessories. In the future, we would move to the next step of selling a range of products including clothes, handbags and beauty care items.
