In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Odel - home to everything fashionable and fabulous in fashion retail and lifestyle, held a series of delightful promotions and competitions, ensuring there was something for everyone, the highlight of which was the ‘To Paris with Love’ promotion held from 17 January through to 13 February 2014. The concept involved having to guess the number of macaroons displayed in a heart shaped rear seat of a magnificent pink Cadillac display located in the foyer of their Flagship Store. The promotion received an overwhelming response with a myriad entries and estimates!

After shortlisting fifty of the closest estimates, the candidates were invited to the grand draw held on 15 February 2014 at the Odel Flagship Store. Not only was love in the air, but the excitement was abundant! In celebration of this special day, ODEL went one step further by offering not one, but five amazing prizes, the grand prize being two return air tickets to the land of love and fashion capital of the world – Paris, sponsored by Belair Travels and Qatar Airways. Other gifts included a one-night stay at Heritance Ahungalla courtesy Aitken Spence Hotels, a hot air balloon ride for two from Sun Rise Ballooning (Pvt) Ltd, Dinner for two at the Governor’s Terrace – Mount Lavinia Hotel and fragrances from Exclusive Lines.

The five winners were selected by Founder and CEO Odel Otara Gunewardene, where Pasindu Nirmana Jayasinghe was chosen as the winner of the grand prize. ‘It was a complete surprise, I never expected to win. What was only a dream, Odel has made a reality! The concept and the occasion went perfectly well together. Odel you really are the best in fashion and so much more!’

In addition the ‘Thank Cupid’ competition allowed a lucky customer to acquire one thing they have always wanted, but couldn’t have until now – with love from ODEL! Customers had to upload their item choice on Instagram or Twitter and Nelum Wickramatunga was lucky enough to be gifted the ensemble of her dreams!
