The Best Dressed List : September
Every month I do a roundup of events that played host to some of the most sartorially savvy, polished, eclectic, and stylish of dressers. In September these people impressed with their style, their poise, their ability to pull a unique look together and were the most soigne of the soigne for the month.
Event - Mini launch
Amanda
This is a great shade on Amanda. It is really pretty against her complexion -- and it’s a universally wearable hue. I like how she’s paired her sophisticated but cute dress with fashion-forward flats and bold red lipstick. This look hits all the right notes.
Event - He breathes again
I love the way she gives androgynous stripes a feminine slant with this Valentino inspired dress, nipped in at the waist with a simple belt. While I would have preferred the look without the necklace, her simple flats and bag allow the dress to really shine.
Event - Flashback show
If you’re lucky enough to have a toned stomach, then this is the way to flaunt it! The nod to the 80’s trend and winter florals combine two stellar looks into one. Kudos!
Event - Keeping it Real
I especially like this look because of the glorious and bold hue. It just goes to show, colour can make an ensemble. The colour for A/W15, Oxblood, it's not just red, it's the new, cool, grown up and sophisticated red. The nude pumps elongate her legs and minimal styling elevate the look .
Event - Rotary International Presidents Cocktails
Alnaas
Alnaas always looks great and this colour blocking sari is fun, striking, elegant and is a nod to her great sense of style. Her magnificent earrings help round out the look and she delivers a master class in how to wear a sari well.
Robyn
This simple silhouette is so elegant and I absolutely love the colour. Oxblood is such a major trend mainly because it is universally flattering. It complements all skin tones and works for any style more so perhaps than other shades of red like ruby, maroon, auburn, crimson, vermillion, scarlet, or the other 50. Oxblood is the colour of the moment and Robyn is a true ambassador of style.
Event - Hameedias and Mr. England
Fouzul
Elegant and traditional, he represents a perfect mix between indisputable old world British tailoring and impeccable Italian style. Kudos!
Event - Re launch if FDO's
To be honest, if you were to describe this dress, sight unseen, it would sound unremarkable. But, the beauty of this look lies in its simplicity. It is understated yet striking.
