The Jealous Girl is an online fashion store targeting every girl’s inner fashionista. Whether you’re looking for stylish clothes, shoes or accessories, the store has them all.

 

Why choose to start the store online?

 

Most retail shopping is shifting from the high street to the web all around the world. The Jealous Girl's credo is to keep doing new things so it was really the obvious choice. On the site, shoppers can log on at whatever time they want and spend as much or as little time as they want without any annoying store clerks bothering them.

 

Describe some of the different collections you have?

 

We have several lines that are very versatile, for example we have an entire line of work dresses in very European cuts which transform into fabulous cocktail wear when you add a couple of little accessories (which you can easily carry with you). We also take huge pride in our collection of Hot High Heels which could certainly make your collection look like Carrie Bradshaw's. We've also got a line of work shirts with equal amounts of smart/sexy/elegant mixed up. 

 

  

 

How do you select each piece and where are they sourced from?

 

We try very hard to make sure that anything we source isn't available anywhere else in town. This isn't easy but we seem to have managed so far with very limited amount of crossover. Our attempt is to hand pick today what we think is going to be trending tomorrow. We look through most parts of Asia and on occasion Europe to do this.

 

  

 

How does the sale and delivery procedure work?

 

Customers send us private messages with their orders or call us on the number displayed to get more info on the product and to arrange delivery. At the moment we deliver ourselves to Colombo city and suburbs for which we charge a small fee and we pick up the cash on delivery. For other locations we courier the merchandise and collect the amount in advance.

 

  

 

How have sales been since starting the store, and what has the customer feedback been like?

 

Sales have been very encouraging and a lot of our customers have become friends. They constantly keep in touch with us via Facebook or private messaging which is another joy of conducting business online. Also they do so because of the way we conduct our business which is very personal and we share thoughts on fashion one to one. So it's really a very warm one to one relationship we end up with.

 

What can we expect from the store in the future?

 

Well probably a full fledged dotcom soon and we do have plans for a physical store and if we do launch that we can guarantee that it'll be unlike anything you've seen in Sri Lanka or anywhere else in the world to be honest.
