With just a few more days left for the grand finale of Lite FM Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2014, we caught up with the top ten girls to find out more about them.

Interests: Dancing, fashion, travel, reading and baking

1)    I don’t know how to ride a bicycle without wheel support

2)    I have an extreme fright of all dogs except my own cute Bichon Poodle

3)    I never go anywhere without my trusty ghd hair iron

4)    I love food and no matter how full I am, I always need my dose of sweets at the end

1)    Absolutely crazy about cheesy food – put cheese on anything I shall eat it

2)    Ideal way to spend a rainy day is to watch TLC’s cooking shows

3)    Dream holiday would be to go to Greece and watch the sunset over its coastal white houses

1)    My dad gave me the Irish name Fiona because he thought I was beautiful, and it’s a latinised form of the Gallic word Fionn which means “fair” which could also be interpreted as beautiful.

2)    I don’t consume any coco, caffeine, carbonated drinks, chicken and nuts.

3)    I am Coulrophobic, that’s probably cuz I watched too many horror movies with clowns.

4)    I’m athletic, I love working out, cycling and swimming.

5)    I am a bully, my (cousin) sister with whom I grew up with is my favourite punching bag, but I love her the most

Tamara Makalanda

Age:26

Education/work: Diploma in Early Years Child Care,  currently working at the National Council for the Deaf where I started off as a volunteer almost 5 years ago, and now I’m a Student Welfare Administrator

Interests: Keeping fit at the gym, eating healthily, and working with children

5 things you didn’t know about me:

1)    When I went to Australia 2 years ago for a conference with my mum we were at the train station and she told me to take my train ticket just in case I get lost and I said that will never happen and I refused to even listen. The next moment my mum was on the train and by the time I got to the door it closed and took off. Not only did I not have my ticket when I checked my phone even my battery was blinking.

2)    I feel the most under pressure in a theme park.

3)    My happiest thing to do is to eat fruit loops and watch Tom and Jerry. Always makes me happy.

4)    I have been watching the comedy series “Friends” almost every day over and over for almost 3 years now.

5)    I am obsessed with Nutella. I can eat it with any and everything. It’s my favourite cheat meal.
