The Inter University Talent show and competition was held at the Musaeus College Auditorium on 10 November. The show was organised by the Student Activity Club of APIIT. The proceeds of this show will be donated to fund a Dialysis Unit at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children.
Lahiru Perera a former student of APIIT and one of the judges commented that ‘it has grown from the past few years, and the quality of talent is amazing’!
The categories in the competition ranged from solo dancing, singing, Instrumental to group categories. In addition to the performances by the competitors the audience was kept entertained by guest performances by Daddy and a few dance troupes.
I spoke to Suresh De Silva, lead vocalist of Stigmata who was also a judge and he commented saying’ the event management and co-ordination has grown from the past years.
The show has become impressive’. He also commented saying that ‘there was a variety of versatility and a broad spectrum of talent’ he also added that he wished there was a bit more originality in the performances.
There was a very positive vibe from the audience and this is what some of them had to say:
Jordan: ’ Of course it was tantalising’
Aboo: It’s really amazing what kids can do’
Heshani & Shenelka: ’ Foster really stood out’
Denushka Weeramperuma: ‘Tantalizing, exciting’.
I spoke to some of the performers and Sonali from D Pshched said’ It’s been a fantastic journey to work with such amazing people.’
Mikkie a 17 year old performer said ‘it really felt great’

Even the weather couldn’t keep the audience away. The show ran to a full house and lived up to its name totally! ‘TANTALIZING’
Hats off to the amazing lighting and choreography.
Would I recommend watching it next year? TOTALLY!
