What will probably go down as the biggest music festival for 2012, STOMP Sri Lanka showed us just how a dance music festival should be. Held at the CH & FC Grounds, STOMP saw some of the very best DJ’s from around the world such as Dinka, Eve Carey and JayTech to name a few, including our very own electronic dance maestros like Asvajit and Tim Tim, playing the finest in electronic music over 2 days.

  1. Lankan says:

Looks like a bunch of drunken animals...period.

  2. American says:

How sad to see so many young Sri Lankans who have lost their Identity.... These Sri Lankan Expats work as Garbage cleaners in the USA and Europe..but show off as if they are on top of the world when they visit their our motherland... No sense of Sri Lankan Pride... Only a Pseudo Lifestyle that they are accustomed to in these decadent Western Societies...No Wonder Sri Lanka, India and other neighboring countries will never Prosper.. they are Still Living in the Colonial Past...thinking that Weste

  3. Eisso says:

    # Ossie - Whats wrong with your eye sight, that you cannot differentiate humans from animals? As for the rest of us, they all look like a crowd of young people enjoying themselves & having a good time. I do not see any African animals in any of the pictures.

  4. Eisso says:

#American ; This has nothing to do with Colonialism. This was a music festival with world renowned D.J's taking part. These are not expats, they are young native sri Lankan's and a few foreigners having a good time, enjoying themselves at this music festival. What are you talking about Sri Lankan pride & identity etc., which has no relevance at all. You may be a Sri Lankan immigrant from America. That does not give you any right to criticize others. Before you write next, check your English gram

American. What a load of rot. Don't insult people you have no idea where they are from or what they do. And I'de like to add in USA and European countries and developed Asian countries no one looks down on people for being garbage cleaners, laboureres or farmers or whatever like in Srilanka and other backward Asian countries. That's why Srilanka will never develop. We have nothing but we are quick to judge those who work hard and are willing to do any job and proper.

  6. Dhammaloka says:

I think there are lot of Maldivians as well. However it is pathetic.

  7. Dhammaloka says:

Sad state of affairs. When people loose their identity they loose everything. Lot of people will try to reason out. But there is only one truth in this world.

  8. sanul says:

Eisso, what did you mean by renowned D.J's. who gave this title to these clowns.......

  9. Shaik Anwar Ahamath says:

This is a wonderful ad for Sri Lanka. We could crawl into our cocoons and live a pious life like some of the people in these columns want, but visitors to our country is essential for our survival and these modes of enjoyment does no harm but shows Sri Lanka as a fun place to visit.

  10. Eisso says:

#Dhammaloka: What identity has these people lost? What is the only truth in the world you only seem to know? For crying out loud, this was a music festival and young people enjoy these all over the world. They are not held only in countries such as Saudi Arabia. In a democracy if people want to enjoy themselves, what is it that bothers prudes such as you? Who the heck are you to condemn these people? Since when were you appointed the moral guardian of Sri Lankan youth? If people want to enjoy th

  11. Eisso says:

#Lankan: What a deplorable, sordid comment by you. You may have seen 'drunken animals', but I do not think any other human have seen animals drunk? The problem is that a miserable person such as you cannot handle young people having a good time, enjoying themselves doing no harm to others. I dont see anyone drunk or misbehaving. All are enjoying the music festival. You are an utterly unhappy, miserable cheerless individual who cannot see others happiness. None of these young people are doing any

  12. Eisso says:

#Dhammaloka: I honestly fail to see how this could be pathetic? What is it that is bugging you? You cannot handle others having fun and enjoying themselves at a music festival. Is that it? They are not doing any harm to anyone. Is having fun banned in your neck of the woods?

  13. Eisso says:

    # sanul: Your air your utter ignorance of the electronic music world by your asinine statement above. DJ's such as Dinka,(Switzerland) Eve Carey (UK) and JayTech (Australia) are known the world over as DJ's who play in well known clubs in places such as: Ibiza, Lucerne, Las Vegas, Monte Carlo, London, New York, Miami, Beirut & many other cities of the world.

  14. Godaya says:

@American - You say that you are an erudite American. I have a few questions for you. So please explain to us godayas (1). What or who is an well accomplished S/L American? (2). If you are an American, you say ; don't give a Cr*p about American or Western pseudo living (by the way crap is poo). ( Isn't that a contradiction?) (3). 'Western people a broke as hell'. (Dont they have the highest standard of living?) (4). You call it the decadent West (Then why creep into the decadent west?). Aren't y

  15. Godaya says:

#American: " Mr. Well accomplished American". We are waiting for you erudite answers to my questions. Or are you too busy working extra hours at a " 7-11" or "Circle K" ? And do not have the time as you pursue the American dream.
