“Nobody’s Perfect”: A Romantic Comedy for One and All
It’s the time of the year to see twin red hearts and chocolate ads all over the place. In the meantime if you want to make the season a memorable one by trying out something new, then I recommend an intriguing and comical take on modern romance. Being at a rehearsal, I learnt “Nobody’s Perfect” is a perfect antidote to the melancholy, or worse yet, clichéd entertainment that comes up during the Valentine season, to say the least.
8th, 9th or 10th February are the days that you would want to set apart to do yourself a favour and head on over to the Lionel Wendt to see a brilliant director give you a desirable dose of both rib-tickling humour and sharp wit.
Jehan Bastians together with Silent Hands will be presenting, “Nobody’s Perfect” an atypical romantic comedy produced by Javin Thomas and Billam Poulier. Incepted in 2000, Silent Hands has been involved in theatre productions. The cast includes Neidra Williams, Kanishka Heart, Avishka De Alwis and Trinushka Perera. With the odds piled up against him, Steve De Zilva, an ambitious writer under the cover of a statistician, now seems to be facing the fiddliest of it all, when the only company willing to publish his work has feminist views. Steve is left with a tough call to make: make the publisher fall in love with him, or stifle his own identity or do both?! So with an out-of-the-box and intriguing storyline, the cast along with Jehan Bastians is set out give their audiences a holistic treat and a deserving indulgence.
If you ask me, I’d say “Nobody’s Perfect” is a play for absolutely anybody, for the perfect, for the less than perfect. Broken-hearted, love-sick or happily-wed the play is a must-see romantic comedy.
“Nobody’s Perfect” is set to take to the boards on the 8th, 9th and 10th of February at the Lionel Wendt auditorium.
Tickets priced at 1500/=, 1000/=, 750/=, 500/= (Balcony) are available at the Lionel Wendt.
