Sharon, here is a question I ask all 2nd or 3rd place winners in a beauty pageant. What made you number 3 and not number 1?
The overall competition was a superb experience for me. And I learned many things and it also boosted my confidence. Even though I came third in the competition, I don’t believe I had a losing point. I strongly believe that I learned so many new things while also gaining a lot of experience in the pageant field. I don’t have any regrets about the place I won.
Are you happy to have your lovely “fair” skin complexion?
Every girl in the world has her own unique skin colour. That’s what makes them a beautiful individual in their own way. I am happy about my skin colour, but having fair skin doesn’t play a big role, as every skin tone is beautiful. I strongly believe that personality plays a bigger role.
Do you have any plans to try new avenues such as acting or singing?
I love to try new things in life. It will test my limits and also give me an opportunity to show my talent. During the pageant, I looked up to Jacqueline Fernandez who is doing so well in Bollywood right now. Looking at her success and where she’s come today, I do want to try out acting.
Will you try your luck in any more pageants?
Maybe in another 2 or 3 years, yes I definitely will try again. This experience was such learning curve for so many new things. I meet lovely people. It was really amazing. I wouldn’t mind going through it all again.
Do you believe you were well prepared for the pageant?
I do believe that I was prepared. I was confident. I’m still young as it was my first experience, I did make a few mistakes. But once again I have no regrets.
Since you are a social bee, did your social life improve after the pageant?
The reception I gained was invaluable. I met new people who will help me in my future. Hopefully it will help me with my future and career. It’s up to me to use them for my own benefit.
Share a tip with our readers on looking good?
I just have just a few simple tips which is to drink plenty of water and eat healthy. Many youngsters don’t give priority to plain water, they instead indulge in drinking soft drinks, shakes etc. And even food they like fast food like burgers, fried food. Just need to make it a point to eat healthy. Also, you need to keep fit with some simple everyday exercises.

Aug 23, 2013 at 12:00 amYou are correct. Skin color does not matter, what matters is a great personality and good brains. Most Sri Lankans are not happy with their own skin color. A person should be happy and feel comfortable in their own skin and the inner beauty will radiate. Good luck in your future ventures!

Any Jewish person living anywhere in the world is considered Israeli. Sri Lankan is the nationality of this young lady. But her ethnicity may be different.
