Meet Shana Rajadurai…
Shana Rajaduri, aged 25 and an old girl of Ladies College, Colombo 7, is certainly flying high…well, literally as she works for a prestigious airline.
In the 2011 Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe pageant, Shana was amongst the top twelve contestants and she has worked with many professional fashion photographers in Sri Lanka.
Life Online caught up with her for a chat.
Q-Shana, I know you told us that you are not committing more time for fashion but what’s your biggest achievement?
Being able to represent one of the most prestigious airlines in the world and being able to travel to other countries at an early age, and continue to do so.
Q-Shana, I understand that you give more priority to work, is there any specific reason why you don’t devote time and energy in modelling?
Well, I have worked with many photographers but I am very choosy on the work I take up due to the time strains.
My current profession is such that I work nights only, and it is quite strenuous on me if I have a photo shoot or something in the morning or afternoon.
And if I am taking up a project I need to be 100% prepared and ready.
Q-When you signed up for the Miss Sri Lanka contest last year, what was your first thought?
I was wondering if I would get selected and I did so I wanted to get some experience out of it.
Q-People change their appearance in many ways like implants, liposuction and so on. You have coloured your hair blonde. What’s your thought on changing images and the story behind your hair colour?
People should do things that make them happy, and blond hair makes me happy. I have tried many colours on my hair and I like blond the best so I continued colouring it blond.
Q-Out of all the counties you’ve visited, what’s your favourite?
I have been to many but I still haven't found a country more beautiful than my motherland Sri Lanka.
