HSBC Colombo Fashion Week Resortwear 2014 Day 4
The fourth and final day of the HSBC Colombo Fashion Week Resortwear 2014 came to an end, showcasing stunning collections by Sonali Dharmawardene, Arugam Bay, COCO by Cotton Collection, Charini Suriyage and Fouzul Hameed alongside other designers.
Sonali Dharmawardene
Here is a designer who has used several mediums of expression throughout her life. Not only does she specialise in batik, but Sonali has also dabbled in designing lingerie garments. Her work is exquisite and one of a kind.
Arugam Bay
This brand celebrates tropical life in Sri Lanka with bright, mesmerizing and bold colours in their range of footwear, swimwear.
COCO
This is the very first time that COCO is showcasing a collection at CFW, and this brand has drawn inspiration from the rebellious Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, her genius, individuality and free-spirited lifestyle.
Sri Lanka's first ethical brand Conscience has teamed up with Land Rover to bring special focus and attention to nature and the importance of its conservation. The collection uses organic cotton from South India.
Nelun's collection 'The Ocean' consists of swimsuits, day dresses, pants, tops, skirts and bags crafted with silk and cotton, and inspired by sea creatures, and finally executed in batik and patchwork.
This is in collaboration with Nirmalee's lace and Priyani's batik, and is a refreshing collection.
Charini Suriyage
She has made a mark for herself in the international fashion arena by being a part of London Fashion Week since 2010. The 'Island Living' collection consists of fashionable items of clothing - lingerie and swimwear.
Fouzul Hameed
A prominent name in the men's fashion wear industry, Fouzul Hameed and his keen eye for detail has made him the man behind the brand of Hameedia's. Presented here is an evening wear collection in linen and cotton.
Having teamed up with Yasisurie Bandara, this iconic brand has presented 'Cool Luxury', an exciting new limited edition fashion line inspired by the textures of the ocean.
Abraham & Thakore
This is one of India's most successful and respected design sources for fashion and accessories as well as textile products for the home.

Perhaps it is the mysoginism, racism, frustration that has led to our current state of a 30 year civil war, an insurgency that killed tens of thousands, elephants in chains, etc, etc? Is that the soulful culture that you refer to? Personally a bit of sex is a lot more harmless and fun than what we see of this culture you refer to.
