December can become a very hectic month for most of us, but as we struggle with our shopping lists, Music Inc. has been busy making melodies to showcase their talents for the Final Wish List. The show was held on the 12th and 13th of December at British school Auditorium.

The doors were opened at around 7pm and the crowd started coming in and in fact most of the seats were filled. The house bell rang… lights dimmed.. it was show time!

The production began with the participants taking the stage for the Carol of the bells which I must say was a very good choice of song to start off the night with.

I was expecting to witness a night, filled only with carols but the next set of songs caught me by surprise. The show was a mix of both Christmas and pop songs.

I found that the singing and the music arrangement being in a good standard, however balancing of the sounds should’ve been much better.

Nevertheless it was a perfect place to be if you needed to relax and listen to some good old carols with a mix of pop.

Will you be there sung by Marlon Ratwatte and the Christmas medley arranged by Shannon Jacob truly captured me and it was pulled off beautifully.

Finally, as Music Inc. took their final bow, a feeling of fulfillment settled in everyone present in the venue. Seeing the magnanimous effect of hard work unfold itself re-iterated the power of team work. The show was directed by Shannon Jacob.

The concert was held in aid of  Emerge Lanka Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering  young women who have survived abuse to rediscover and celebrate their personal beauty and  develop their self-sufficiency.
