Sri Lankan gem at Indian Princess 2013
Internationally acclaimed Indian Princess & Indian Princess International is a beauty pageant held every year covering the 14 states of India, providing a chance to young Indians from all over the world to witness Indian culture and tradition. This beauty pageant is a highly anticipated event, featuring the top fashion fraternity, executives, corporates and entertainers.
This year Indian Princess was back with a bang; the 4th season with 20 contestants from the major states of India. Indian Princess International celebrated its 2nd season comprising participants from 20 countries which included Sri Lanka, South Africa, Netherlands, Suriname, Middle East, France, Nepal, Bahrain, Qatar, Malaysia, Bangladesh, New Zealand, India, Italy and more.
This year, for the very first time the Indian Princess International pageant comprised one of our own beauties as well - Piumee Vithanage, aged 22, a mesmerizingly beautiful young lady whose talents and achievements have hoisted her to stardom in the modelling arena overnight.
As an undergraduate of the University of Kelaniya, she has been proactively engaged in many extracurricular activities, in addition to her academic work. She was awarded the Intra University Best Solo Dancer-2012 title in the modern classic category and she was also a member of the Best Eastern Dancing Troupe of her university in 2012.
Her passion to explore the world of modelling has added a new eventful chapter to her life as she was recently crowned the best Female Model at Stylish Marketer 2012 in Sri Lanka.
The turning point of her life was Indian Princess International 2013. She represented Sri Lanka in this unique beauty pageant for young models worldwide aimed at showcasing their talent and giving them enormous opportunities in the world of fashion and Bollywood.
As the representative of Sri Lanka in Indian Princess International she has been lucky enough to take part in many fashion shows in India in the most famous cities for modelling and fashion such as Mumbai, Chandigarh and Delhi.
Indian Princess International supports women’s empowerment and girl child education in India.
Piumee considers the opportunity given by Indian Princess International for her to explore the routes of fashion and beauty, as a blessing in her life since she got the chance to meet many famous fashion designers, the training given by world famous choreographer Mr. B'Souza has been an intense but very effective one; the grooming, personal development, modelling tips they’ve taught her have absolutely made her realise her weak points and now she knows how to carry herself with charisma.
Piumee admires her family for being her greatest strength always.
She wishes to bring the quality of the Sri Lankan modelling industry to a higher level by sharing the experiences she had at Indian Princess International. Her ambition is to become an early childhood educator and build a better education system for Sri Lankan children.
She hopes to go far in the fashion industry and make herself an unforgettable and significant icon in every way.
