Sanath Gunathilake
Just as we rejoice, I feel its time to look deep into our hearts and see where we had gone wrong and step into the new year with new hope and confidence. That’s my wish for the New Year
Anusha Damayanthi
Just like the previous year, the New Year also appears to be a busy one for me. I am starting the year on a significant note, acting in an overseas film that is being shot in the UK.
Meanwhile I will be focusing on my dancing missions too. I hope to give my best shot to whatever creations I am part of this year. I have also been offered a role in Nalaka Vithanage’s newest film Agni Warsha.
Damitha Abeyratne
I will be kicking off the year with some musical shows in Kuwait and Korea. As usual I will engage in artistic activities this year. On the personal front, I hope to tie the nuptial knot this year.
Chandika Nanayakkara
I am completing ten years in the acting scene. Though I have played a variety of roles on the small screen, I hope to focus more on the silver screen this year. With my experience I hope to make some useful contributions to cinema as well.
I started operations at my Trident hotel in Kataragama with the start of this year and I hope to give the people a different taste of hospitality there. I was a hotelier before embarking on the acting career.
Sujani Menaka
I started the year working for my newest tele drama ‘Meeduma Wage Awidin’ . I will continue to contribute my part in tele dramas as usual and serve the arts.
Manjula Kumari
I have a lot of plans for the New Year but my main focus would be to create a new tele drama. That’s my dream for this year.
Roshan Ranawana
My biggest wish this year is to do an international movie and bring glory to my country. My sincere wish is to highlight Sri Lanka in the global movie scene.
Himali Sayurangi
My biggest hope this year is to welcome the newest member to our family. My husband Asanga Jayalath is delighted too. I have been continuing with my television mission as a presenter. I have been offered a good role in a new period film too.
Uresha
I am expecting my baby this year and that’s my biggest expectation this year. I recorded some new songs recently and I am planning to release them too.
Romesh Sugathapala
I am planning my ‘Digu Desa’ concert in Kandy in April this year and that’s my biggest anticipation for the moment. I will certainly continue to create melodious songs to soothe music lovers of this country.
Manoj Peiris
I am glad that I started the year on a tuneful note. I composed the official theme song of the Department of Immigration and Emigration and that was launched on January 1. The song penned by the Department’s Controller General W. A. Chulananda Perera is now being played daily in the mornings after the national anthem.
Giriraj Kaushalya
I have worked as assistant Director in several projects directed by Shirley P. Delankawela, but this is the first time that I am getting a chance to play a good role in his newest tele drama ‘Potha Wetiya’. I am also playing a role in Shantha Soysa’s ‘Sanda’ which will unfurl on ITN soon. I play a different role as a Buddhist monk in Somaratne Dissanayake’s newest movie ‘Siri Perakum’.
I am planning an overseas tour next month to coincide with the Independence Day programme there.
Oshadi
My full focus is on my son who is just two months old now. I will be starting to present some television shows soon.
Samadhi Arunachaya (Malee)
I am acting in two tele dramas ‘Hiru’ and ‘Ukkuwa’ while I will be starting the dubbing task for ‘Waishnavi’ soon.
On the personal front, I am planning to marry in May this year. I wish to take this opportunity to caution all my fans that I have no FB account and somebody is maintaining a fake Facebook account under my name.
Kanchana Mendis
I am going to be away from the country with my son for a short period, to spend some time with my husband. I just completed the ‘Girikula’ tele drama shooting schedule.
Nalaka Swarnathilake
My biggest plan for the year is to organize a unique show involving students of my Academy by March.
It will showcase the singing and dancing skills of the children, but it will not be another reality experience. It will highlight the significance of team spirit. It will have songs sung in six languages.
Himali Siriwardana
I will start the year with a new tele drama directed by Hasun Chameera. The historic story will include the traditional Angampora martial arts too.
