Mark Ronson set to make music history at the Electric Peacock Festival 2015

A string of number one hits, three Grammys, two Brit Awards and over a billion views on YouTube for his breakthrough track "Uptown Funk" is part of what makes Mark Ronson an unstoppable force in music and he's about to make his mark in Sri Lanka when he headlines the Electric Peacock Festival on the 4th of December 2015. “The country is already buzzing about his upcoming performance and we know what an awesome act he is as we have been lucky enough to see his set at Glastonbury. I guarantee he is amazing,” beams Leah Bazalgette, Co-Founder of the Festival.

Mark has been behind some of the biggest tracks by the some of the most famous artists in the world including Bruno Mars, Adele, Paul McCartney and the late Amy Winehouse; and this is why he is considered to be one of the biggest DJ Producers in the world.

He is an extremely gifted musician, playing multiple instruments including the guitar, the piano and the drums. It's this wide music knowledge that has given Mark his unique approach to song writing and production. He has an uncanny knack to identify music trends before they become commercial and this has been one of the main reasons for his success. His ability to identify raw talent much like Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse has meant that he has always been at the forefront of music, even identifying the funk soul revival that has been a big movement in 2015.

According to Rolling Stone magazine, "Uptown Funk" spent a lengthy 31 weeks in the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100, being beaten by just one week by LeAnn Rimes, who set the record for the longest stay in 1997 with "How Do I Live”.

“We are so excited to have such a multitalented and award winning artist grace the Electric Peacock Stage. Mark Ronson is so much more than a lot of the DJs in the music industry today, his pure love for music and reinvention has even led to him receiving ‘The Breaking Barriers Award’ at the Global Spin Awards in New York this month,” states Tasha Marikkar, Co-Founder of Electric Peacock.

Ronson is sure to bring a show stopping performance for the festival attendees this year and will be playing all his hits, including ‘Ooh Wee’ with Nate Dogg and Ghostface Killah, ‘Valerie’ with Amy Winehouse and ‘Bang Bang Bang’ with the Business Intl, on top of his number one hit ‘Uptown Funk’.
