The opening ceremony of Mahindra Sri Lanka Premier League was held on the 10^th of August at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.

Maxi Priest along with Chris Gayle, Bathiya and Santhush with Lasith Malinga & Tillakaratne Dilshan, Reenie with Sanath Jayasuriya, Lanthra & Ashanthi, Arjun Kumaraswami and Lazer Act performed at the opening ceremony.

The T20 League kicks off from August 11th and will be played over three weeks at two venues - Colombo and Kandy. The tournament will be running till 31st August 2012.
