Jacqueline Fernandez returns to the screen this time in a ground breaking new music video for Lux Liquid Bodywash.
"Seda Kathandare" shot and produced in Mumbai, sees Bollywood actress and Lux brand Ambassador Jacqueline as an ethereal goddess watching over and guiding some very fortunate girls. The song to this music video, the first of its kind in Asia, is sung by musician and composer Sanka Dineth and produced by Ranga Dassanayake.
Speaking about her experience shooting the video at the launch of "Seda Kathandare", Jacqueline explained it was difficult at first for her to grasp the concept of a music video for Lux as it was something she’d never heard of but once she did, she got behind it 100%.
Recalling some of her favourite moments of shooting, she said the bath sequence and the foam fight, which she describes as super fun since she had the whole crew cheering her on with the music playing as well.
When asked to pick her favourite Lux body wash, she immediately said White Impress, stating the micro beads in the bodywash work really well to soothe her skin; adding that she’s quite addicted to it now, especially as she received a carton of it after shooting the video.
“It was an amazing experience being associated with this music video and LUX has done an amazing job, it’s one of the best campaigns I’ve ever seen. It has a real story to tell and I’m privileged to be a part of the brand.” said Jacqueline.
Talking about her career in Bollywood, the former Miss Sri Lanka said she was lucky to have gotten the debut role she did and says Bollywood is a completive industry where you have to work hard at what you’re doing. Her advice for anyone looking to make it big there was to simply work hard and maintain good public relations.
“Doors opened for me after winning Miss Sri Lanka, I began modeling in India and from there I was lucky to be cast in a movie. I never thought of becoming an entertainer. I did enjoy performing as a kid but never thought of it as a career. I assumed it would end with modeling, but now I feel lucky to have fulfilled what I’ve done so far.” She said.
“I would love to act in a movie in Sri Lanka. I have been in talks with a few directors but just like in India, I’m waiting for the right script to come my way. Just because I was raised abroad and I might not speak the language, that doesn’t change anything. I am Sri Lankan and that will never change, no matter what anyone thinks.” She said responding to rumours that she’s turned away from her Lankan roots.
As for her plans for the future, she said once her schedule in Bollywood clears up, she would like to spend more time here and help with the Miss Sri Lanka pageant, “I was here for the last Miss Sri Lanka pageant to help the girls with tips and sharing my experiences with them. I would like to spend more time here and promote the talent we have.”
“Seda Kathandare” is now available to watch on Youtube and Facebook while shorter clips made for TV will be screened in the coming future.
