Duh Man is a cartoon character like no other, an ‘unassuming dude who gets everything wrong, but makes it right with his zany sense of logic’.
He has several colorful alter egos, mainly ‘Duh Stud’; described as ‘a crafty fox, a self taught romeo who plays on his strength of humour and dresses to kill in absurd outfits!’, ‘Duh player’; who takes sports to the next level with his unique opinion and radical comments, ‘Duh Good’; who helps a lot of people in his own way even if they do not need it, and ‘Duh Vigilante’; this Duh questions every piece of news that’s hot. He has his own outlook on things that deserves (in his weird sense of thinking) talking about!
Created by cartoonists Krishan Jayaratnam and Sachin Samaraweera in 2013, the idea for Duh Man came out through a brain storm.
The two who were childhood friends, met by chance years later, and upon finding out their talents for writing and drawing complimented each other, decided to put them together.
“We both saw potential in 'Duh man' as a figure that could entertain readers in our loony land. We found that through him we could voice our own crazy opinions on the madness that surrounds us, in a fun way” says Krishan, who is the writer for the Duh Man series.
The series also features two sideline characters whom Duh Man goes to for advice; the angelic ‘Halo’ who is the consultant, psychiatrist, negotiator, mediator and even matchmaker.
And ‘Hell’ who mischievously leads Duh astray with evil thoughts and plans and lands him in trouble.
Though the series started of as a hobby for the makers, they’re looking to publish a full length comic sometime in the future, “later than sooner though” adds Krishan
