Beauty and Style tips for the Modern Woman

A woman plays many roles in society; a stay at home mum, university student, working woman… sometimes all three! No matter how busy she is, she likes to dress stylish and look good, but really, who has time to spend hours in front of the mirror straightening out your hair or dabbing on lipstick?

Here are a few time saving tips and tricks for the modern woman.

Choose your outfit the night before.

No matter how late your night is, or how tired you are, pick your outfit the night before. You will be saving yourself a lot of stress and a good 15 minutes in the morning!

Sleep on a wet braid (straight/wavy haired ladies).

Lightly wet your hair the night before and run some styling cream over it. Then braid it lightly and secure it with a hair tie. You’ll wake up to soft, romantic waves next morning!

Master the art of light, yet well done makeup.

Argh! The thought of doing your makeup at 7am on a Monday morning is enough to give me shivers! But we all know how attractive (not!) we look with puffy eyes and undone eyebrows! Therefore, keep a small supply of makeup in your bag (concealer, powder, mascara, white eyeliner and lipstick) and do your makeup while having your morning coffee.

Always wear heels, always!

For someone who can’t walk straight in a pair of heels, this is rich coming from me! But trust me, heels give you an immediate boost of confidence! It doesn’t have to be a 6 inch heel! Even a comfortable wedge heel would do!

Wear well tailored, fitting clothes.

As much as I’d love to go to work in sweat pants and t-shirt, it is important to dress up well. Good first impressions are very important in business relationships. Pick your outfit to suit your audience and occasion.

Smell fresh and clean, always.

This doesn’t mean dump the entire bottle of perfume all over you! But spritz some scent on your wrists, behind your ears and on your pulse points to have you smelling fresh and clean all day!

Learn to use bobby pins, plenty of it!

Top buns are easy, elegant and very professional! Not only do they keep your hair out of your face, but it’s also very easy to do! Just throw your hair up in a high ponytail, wrap the hair around the hair tie and pin it with bobby pins. Voila!
