The Style Files: Going Green
My favourite things about August are the collections issues, Vogue, Elle, Harpers etc. all have them and as I spend hours studying them I can’t help but notice that green in all its glorious shades seems to be a theme that runs through the A/W collections. Greens are not only good for your inner health (think broccoli, gotukola smoothies and the like) they’re also a must have shade for your outer-self! The fact that green is the shade of envy and the colour of money can’t be a coincidence!

For those of you who regularly follow my column you’ll know that a couple of weeks ago, following Balmain's lead, I was heavily vested in and a proponent of khaki, which is a de riguer colour as we head into the final quarter of the year. Add on to that most other shades of green.

At Dior Raf Simons new season proposition included emerald green pant suits, forest green dresses and shocks of vivid green in the form of clutches both embellished and minimalistic. At Dolce and Gabbana forest green took centre stage and is a shade that has endlessly proved its worth as a shade that suits all skin tones. Chanel had brighter shades of green interspersed with other pop colours for eye shadow.

The Giorgio Armani collection was an ode to green from muted limes to sweet pastel greens matched beautifully with light greys and blacks. Stella McCartney explored the dynamic between forest and emerald greens spectacularly.
