What do you get when you cross snorkelling with SCUBA diving? A patented shallow-water diving system called SNUBA, invented in 1989.
The experience, brought to you by Mongoose Adventures, Sri Lanka’s leading adventure sports provider, is now available to tourists at Chaaya Blu, Trincomalee. Earlier this year, Mongoose Adventures introduced the sport to Sri Lanka, with a launch at Chaaya Tranz, Hikkaduwa.
A cross between snorkelling and scuba diving, SNUBA is an easy and safe way to explore the diverse marine life around the seas off the Eastern coast.
SNUBA offers swimmers the opportunity to safely experience the underwater world at deeper depths than snorkelling, without requiring prior diving certification. A typical SNUBA dive takes swimmers to about six metres below the surface, where a wider variety of aquatic life can be observed.
Shown here are images captured during a SNUBA session of some of the diverse marine life that awaits you around the seas of the Eastern Coast.
