The idea for the store came to online shopaholic turned entrepreneur Teena Rahim, after receiving numerous complements for her own purchases and several requests by friends to pick items for them too; she soon became a hit when it came to selecting the perfect piece of jewelry.
Having gained confidence from her purchases for friends, and seeing many successful stores running on Facebook, Teena was inspired to begin her dream of starting her own store, and in November 2012, opened online jewelry store Girly Bird.
Speaking about the collections on offer at the store, Teena said she was first attracted to gold replicas with cute feminine designs for the store, stating that today’s woman prefer simplicity and minimalism; it certainly seems to be true as the collection has proved to be a hit among my customers. Her love for vintage designs soon followed, “they are amazing compared to other types of jewelry, the designs are unique and if you select them carefully you can make amazing combinations.”

You can find plenty of great deals and sales at the store which always sees stock sell out immediately. With Valentine’s Day coming up, Girly Bird is offering a special collection of Platinum plated, 18K real gold plated, as well as Sterling Silver and silver plated jewelries. Most of the pieces you’ll find at the store have been imported from China or Hong Kong, Selecting jewelry for the store is one of Teena’s favourite jobs. Taking into consideration a person’s particular taste as well as the current trend is a challenge but a fun task for the avid shopper.
She follows online fashion magazines and blogs to stay touch with the newest fashion alerts.

“I think for our people, online shopping is still like a whole new experience. The hesitation to buy something without seeing it for real. Many of them inquired if they can come to my store and have a look. At first it was a little challenging to gain their trust but once they found out that this is risk free and totally cool way to shop they started to order from us on a regular basis. Now I get many calls, messages and emails from my happy customers about how much they adore and love our jewelries and saying that they would buy from my store again. So what else makes a shop owner more happy than a satisfied customer.” Teena happily explained.
To order, send items code numbers and along with personal details to the store and then deposit the payment to the provided bank account. Delivery is made by registered post and even courier, depending on the order type and the value. Whichever method a customer selects to get their order to be post, the store gaurentees no more than 2 days for delivery.
