I am so pleased to see talented young people in Sri Lanka being recognized , also to see so many youngsters enjoying themselves. Way to go. .

  2. Audacious_Fan says:

Brilliant performance being an all girl band! With odds against them, they proved everyone who were against them that they're the best.
Epic stuff by Nathan as well!

    Congratulations!!! \m/

  3. Imran says:

What is the point of these shows? There is nothing to gain by singing western songs and wearing short skirts. Who are these girls and what are their parents doing? At least in this month the authorities should have prevented these shows. We are going to end up like India and Thailand. The people have completely lost their culture because of false worship. The same thing can happen to Sri Lanka.

  4. Gemba says:

Imran, I am not surprised at your comments here. If all this irks you, then you are in the wrong country altogether. We are a secular democracy and not governed by primitive, archaic, false laws like Sharia, where killing, rape and abuse of women are tolerated and innocent fun banned. Take a look at countries where your type of thinking and laws are recognized; Pakistan, Iraq, Bangladesh, Egypt, Mali, Nigeria, Somalia etc. They murder each other in the name of their god and you find that OK, but

  5. Audacious_Fan says:

@Vijith: You're complaining about something that is out of your hands. May it be the crowd or an artist, you can't really control what they do or sing or wear. And they sing these songs to get to a point where they can make their originals. Appreciate the fact that they go up onstage and actually make a mark on the local talent. It is talent whether you like it or not. Pure, genuine talent. Stop comparing and stop looking at the faults. If you can't, then stop following the concert altogether.

  6. reader says:

Reply to Imran - Just wanted to clarify what you meant there by 'at least in this month'? What's the 'national' significance of this month that this event (or any other event) should not take place. Please explain.

  7. Vijith Perera says:

I agree with Imran. Just look at the last photo of the girls wearing mini skirts and revealing it all. This is going complete against Asian culture. Mind you these girls don't have that good assets to show off anyway. We just cannot sing European music. Simple because we don't look and sound like Europeans. These shows only show degradation of our culture. Nothing else. I would be shocked to call this "talent".

  8. Chris says:

@Imran: Dude i think your in the wrong country....that's it!

  9. Audacious_Fan says:

@Imran You have a choice of not coming for this show. It is not the only show where girls wear short skirts and from your comment, it is clear that you don't see the talent in them, but only short skirts. This show has been on for nearly a decade and it has created opportunities for so many people who didn't have a chance otherwise.
Think again and remember, you have a choice of not coming for this show if you don't want to. Stop complaining.

  10. Imran says:

@Gemba....I think you are being fooled by media. Islam means peace. The violence in the countries you mention are because of Zionist and other intelligence agencies. They want to divide Muslims and people like you are falling for the Western propaganda. In Pakistan most of the violence is done by Hindu, CIA and other intelligence agencies. In Somalia the CIA has already been proved to cause terrorism. The same with the French in Mali. All the countries you mention are having terrorism because of

  11. AZAD says:

dear Imran, I am a muslim too, but pls pls don't comment negative if you don't like something, just do not intervene in others freedom unless it is something to do with our religion and be happy that your daughters, sisters not participating in such event or not wearing such short dress. rgds

  12. The Pacifist says:

Looks like those chicks are the only girls that turned up for the event. They seem pretty promiscuous but don't let the appearance fool you.

  13. vérité i says:

Imran = Ikram, all he does comment like this, he doesn't have anything else to do

  14. Audacious_Fan says:

@Imran: You must understand talent, reasons for having such a show etc before commenting. Stop bringing your religion into everything. If you had talent and took part, you would understand.

  15. Realist says:

Vijay and Imran have no idea how to talk to girls, so they lash out online at attractive girls.

  16. Gemba says:

#Pacifist: What an horrible comment by you about some young girls attending a concert, to call them PROMISCUOUS? Do you even know the real meaning of this word that you have used to describe these girls.

  17. neutral says:

imran i agree with your comment on the dress code of these young ladies. its frankly quite sad that parents feel comfortable sending them out like that...as for your comment on having it during this month its wrong to impose your religious view on others.. the fact of the matter is that women nowadays feel that female empowerment is all about prancing around in tiny minis.. but if thats what they wanna do ..by all means they should be allowed to because every individual is responsible for their

  18. Gemba says:

There are a lot of inappropriate comments here about the mini skirts being not appropriate etc.

  19. pinky says:

yes, this is Sri Lanka, not England or United States to wear mini skirts and mini frocks. You cannot blame men if and when something untoward happen to those girls. Our culture is going to dogs

  20. Gemba says:

#pinky: Are you stating that you cannot control your emotions when you see a young girl in a mini skirt.? You need immediate psychological help, it that be the case. We live in a secular democracy, any one is free to dress

  21. Hoona says:

Too many hypocrites making inappropriate comments on this blog. They want to impose there censorship and their primitive, warped sense of modesty on the rest of the population. These misguided moral twerps, who are society's misfits should creep into the caves that they emerged from and leave the rest of the people to get on with their lives in a free society.

  22. Diplomat says:

@Pinky. Are you in all honesty saying that you cannot control your carnal desires when you see women in a mini skirt? Then you are a very poor specimen of a human being, if that be the case. What culture are you talking about? Do you even comprehend what you wrote?

  23. Cecil says:

Although in Mini skirts these girls look so innocent and humble.

  24. Audacious_Fan says:

They're not wearing mini skirts. Those are called dresses FYI. They're free to dress the way they want. I know Audacity personally and they're the most carefree, humble, honest and hilarious bunch of girls with so much talent. Don't judge on what they wear and honestly, what they're wearing isn't half as bad as what some other random girls were wearing.
If you want to comment or criticize on what girls wear, go to a fashion show, don't go for onstage.
