Meet Eshani Diana

 

 

People at Life Online love meeting diversified, talented women, especially when they are fashionable and dressed to kill wherever they go. 

 

Here is someone who fits in to that list and she is none other than Eshani. Her mother discovered that she has the stars to become a model at the age of 15 and today she is a model who is very much in demand, featuring in almost all magazines in Sri Lanka as well as in fashion editorials. 

 

Her big eyes and her positive personality even paved a way for her for some acting in an overseas movie production. And that’s not all, Eshani is now behind the mike working with a popular song writer and producer on her music. More on that below as we get down to our tête-à-tête.

So your mother pushed you into modelling, and as you know not all Sri Lankan parents are “cool ” like her. What’s your comment for those “uncool” parents who restrict their children from taking up modeling etc.?
 

I am actually very lucky that my parents were into art and they saw my potential modelling career very positively. And I know that other parents have many wishes for their children such as to make their son an engineer, make their daughter a doctor and so on. So from parent to parent their wishes are different and I respect that and I don’t think it’s right for me to criticize. 

 

 

Eshani, here is one question I’ve asked from everyone who is diversified as you… How do you manage your time?

 

From my younger days I did extra-curricular activities like dance, music, Red Cross, girl guiding, athletics. I was even a prefect.  So from an early age I got the practice to manage my time in studies and the extracurricular stuff.

 

 

Your new music career is looking bright, tell us what’s happening now and your plans?
 

Right now I’m working on a debut single with Aslam, and in the near future I will do my music video. I am very positive of this and I first want to see the reaction from everyone and later plan my album.

 

What do you enjoy most - modelling, singing, dancing or acting?
 

I love modelling because I feel my personality is more for modelling.

 

As a person who faces the camera almost every week , tell us the issues, difficulties you face?
 

I have helped so many fashion photographers who are now very established, when they were new comers to their respective industry. I remember I used to spend my own money on taxis, took my own clothes, did my own makeup so they could take some snaps of me and fill their portfolios. But it’s sad to see most of them are not grateful for the help I have given them nor remember what I did for them. That’s the most difficult situation I have faced in my career.
