Vintage inspired jewelry, trinkets, and everything pretty!

Dressup is the brainchild of three serial shopaholic sisters, keen to share their love of vintage accessories with the world. Since its conception 2 years ago, Dressup has proved itself to be one of the most popular online stores in Colombo to date.

When did you decide to start to store?

We travel a lot and we always bring back vintage inspired jewellery. At the time, vintage inspired jewellery was not available in Sri Lanka. So we would bring back our stash of lovelies from little jewellery stores in London, Melbourne, Sydney, and a few other places around the world. And then we thought why not make it available for everyone over here; and voila, Dressup was born!

With over 47,000 fans, our virtual boutique became an online haven for anyone and everyone who had their heart set on owning intricate vintage inspired accessories. We take great pride in sourcing jewellery we know our customers would love.

Our challenge is to keep bringing down items that are different, beautiful and current. What's great about being an online store is that we get to reach customers anywhere in the world and we deliver wherever they are for a very nominal fee. And we've got a range of payment options that makes life easier for the customer. The negative aspect of being online would be that customers don't get to touch and feel what's available in-store, as they would in a regular store.

But we always give a realistic view of each of the pieces, by photographing everything individually and giving size, colour and metal specs. 

Describe some of the different collections you have?

Each piece in-store is tastefully picked with current trends in mind. Our latest line is a beautiful selection of white gold plated jewellery with semi precious stones. Lately, there's been a resurgence of 90's style jewellery trends. Whether simple and classic or bejewelled and bright, the vintage look has always reigned over everything else.

And we've always danced around our love of vintage jewellery whenever we pick something. We’ve also got a whole stash of  beautiful jewellery from Australia that will be uploaded on the site, in a few days.

How does the sale and delivery procedure work?

Once a customer inquires about something in-store, we'll send out a cost breakdown. Once that's confirmed, we'll send out our payment modes (Either a deposit to the Dressup account, an online bank transfer, Paypal or Dialog EzCash). Once payment is confirmed, we'll have the package delivered within 24 - 48 hrs within greater Colombo and 48 - 72 hrs for outstation deliveries. The delivery timeline for overseas customers depends on the country, but we do deliver internationally in a matter of days, as well. 

Our customers primarily reach us via facebook (www.facebook.com/dressup.accessories). So if a customer sends us a message regarding an order, we'll get back almost immediately. Otherwise, we're on email ([email protected]) and via phone (077-3737787).

What can we expect from the store in the future?

We're currently in the process of setting up the website and super excited about it too. We're taking it a step at a time. And we believe in having fun at the store, so if you drop by the Dressup facebook page, you'll always find something exciting going on; either a promotion, free delivery week, flash sales, conversations across customers from different parts of the world and so much more. We're predicting exciting times ahead for everyone!
