Christmas is the time for joy and love, a time to reflect on life and be grateful for all we have. With this in mind, it is time and to give a home to those who would really appreciate it. Embark is once again hosting their annual Christmas Adoption Day on 21 December at 2 pm at the Odel Flagship Store, Alexandra Place with ‘Christmas Magic with Niko’; which will be held together with a seasonal showcase of a special range of goods with love and cheer from Embark.
It will be a day of fun and laughter for all and a chance to find love and give love. Dog lovers who wish to support the cause can also gift a voucher for a vaccination whereby helping vaccinate street dogs against rabies, create a safer environment for street pooches and their surrounding communities, gift a treatment contributing to Embark rescue, treat and rehabilitate street dogs affected by diseases ranging from tumors, manage, parasitic infections to fractures and paralysis. Shoppers can even sponsor a cute cuddly toy for a hospitalized pooch to make their Christmas extra special.
Commenting on the event, OtaraGunewardene says “I have always had dogs from the time I was a child. When I adopted Niko seven years ago, I understood how much love street dogs have to give and how grateful they are. It has been such a pleasure to share this experience and through Embark we hope to give this happiness to many others who are passionate to make a change both in their lives and the life of a dog. It takes so little for the happiness one gets.”
Embark will also showcase their new collection of Niko themed Christmas items that will be available in store, ranging from Christmas decorations, wrapping paper, tins, ribbons, Niko cupcakes, back to school products such as bags, bottles and stationary as well as fashion items such as t-shirts, soft toys, greeting card packs, calendars and mugs. All funds raised will go to Embark that will use the funds to continue on their mission to help both people and street dogs.
Since its inception in 2007, the vision of Embark’s initiative has been firm: to provide a better life for the street dogs of Sri Lanka and to give them the love, respect and homes they all deserve.
