There are 22,488 likes on the Choco Luv Facebook page. But that was the last time I checked. It could be 23,000 the next time I decide to have a look. Since it opened to the public in Wellawatte a year and a half ago, it has been nothing more than an immense hit amongst people craving an irresistible milkshake every now and then. Coming up with the most sinfully delicious and creamy milkshakes, Choco Luv gained the due attention it received. Using ingredients such as Ferrero Rocher chocolate, Nutella, Tic Tac, Oreos and Kinder chocolate, the café proceeded to whip up milkshakes so good, you were bound to return back for another one the following week or day! Having moved from Wellawatte, Choco Luv is now located in Colombo 07, a prime location.
The Choco Luv flagship store now features not just a spacious and elegant café but it’s very own chocolate shop too. Stocking goodies such as Kit Kat Chunky, Maltesers, Hershey’s Kisses, Kinder, Ferrero Rocher, M&Ms, Jelly Belly, Skittles, Hubba Bubba bubblegum and Wonka Nerds, Runts and Laffy Taffy. But the chocolate shop isn’t all.
Choco Luv has introduced new items to the menu recently, one of which is the Nutella Fruit Shake. A regular Nutella milkshake with chopped strawberries mixed into the concoction, the beverage is creamy, indulgent and it’s got this fruity twist that could grow on your taste buds. Next up is the Butterscotch Dreams, a little too sweet for my liking but all the same a yummy beverage just right to get you a proper sugar high.
Also in the list of new items is the Colombo Jumbo, a huge hot dog served with minced beef on top and a mustard cream sauce. Other dishes include the chicken kottu and cheese chicken kottu. Food served at Choco Luv come from the Delicious range, exclusive to the café.
With all this, Choco Luv is in the process of building their very own ice cream parlour in the same premises. Having taken a peek at the construction, I can safely say that it looks to be a spacious environment serving ice cream in a variety of flavours, just perfect for hot days like these. On the huge list of plans they have, the Chunky Monkey remains on top too. So what exactly is the Chunky Monkey? It will be a whole banana dipped in chocolate sauce and then frozen. Almost like a fruit popsicle. They plan to do the same with pineapple, strawberries and other selected fruits.
Of course, three factors give Choco Luv that cutting edge in the food and beverage industry. They are as follows: affordable prices, consistency in quality and impeccable customer service.
Choco Luv also has a delivery service which operates through Colombo and its suburbs. There isn’t a minimum order required and you can even order a single milkshake when craving it. Delivery charges apply. Choco Luv is located at 67A, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 07 and is open everyday from 10am-12am. They do have a Facebook page as well so be sure to check that space for daily updates.

May 30, 2012 at 05:10 pmWhat a pathetic way to right about something as delightful as Choco Luv... it's chocolate for crying out loud! where's the passion that needs to come with reviewing food... I hope you'll write with more passion next time. Where Choco Luv is concerned, there will never be another like it in SL, that that has the ability to transport you to many fond memories in life.
