Full name: Camille Fraser
Nickname: Camy
Education: Undergraduate at the University of Leicester and thereafter an MBA
Life’s motto: Let Go and Let God

We've met a lot of young, good looking ladies who are exceptional. This week's beauty is different. She is a young entrepreneur who has already begun to make a name for herself in Web Design & Development, Graphic Design and Corporate Communications with her company Hashtag. This new entrant into the field of design and communications is Camille Fraser.

What caused you to leave the safety net of a large Telco and move out on your own?
I always wanted to be independent. I believe I am organised and strong. It came to a point in my life where I felt very strongly about the need to leave the nest and venture out on my own. Having taken a decision I was supported by my family and my then boss' from the very word go. I've been fortunate to have been guided and groomed and also to have worked under some of Sri Lanka’s renowned marketing gurus who have constantly encouraged me and believed in me.

What can't you live without?
My God! My family! My coffee!

What do you feel are the strengths that have primarily attracted your client portfolio to Hashtag and Social Media Productions?
All glory to God for where I am today, I believe he has amazing favour on my life. Coming from a brand management background and having specialised in marketing, I believe, has played an important role. I have not marketed Hashtag or Social Media Productions as yet’ however most of the projects we’ve gotten so far are purely on referrals from happy clients. I don’t want to branch out big without a proper plan. Some new companies that expand their business too soon fail to service their clients well. I don’t want to be that person; you always need to have a plan.

So then, what are your plans for the immediate future?
Well I hope to start up a little Blog/Magazine related site soon; however it’s something more personal and I intend doing as a means to keep myself entertained. This has no immediate start date though.

What drives you as an individual?
Someone once said “Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.” Failure is not an option when you've taken your livelihood into your own hands. It’s just been over a year and now and since I have a team that also depends on the work we do, every prospective client is a victory that needs to be won. I love what I do; the challenge, the excitement with a pinch of creativity. What more do I need?

One day will your Mr. Right be a part of your business?
For sure, if he wants to. Unless of course he has already built his own empire!
