What made you enter the world of entertainment?
Destiny. I do believe arts to be heavenly or something that God adores the most and a person has to be specially blessed by God to be successful in this industry. So, it’s Destiny…
Are you happy with all your achievements?
Tough question. J I’ve not achieved much yet.. but there are moments in my life that I cherish a lot.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Simple, light spirited and courageous.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how happy are you?
5.5
Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
Both. Life is full of settlements but we have to try our maximum to do what we believe within our settlements.
How were you when you were a kid?
Shy. Always reached out to share and help the needy. Independent.
Would you break the law to save a loved one?
I have and I was wrong. I will never do it again. Law is what protects us, citizens. Justice has to prevail, no matter what.
If...
If you could be instantly fluent in one other language that you currently do not read or speak, what would it be?
Tamil coz my Dad is Tamil. (Parents got divorced when I was 4. Never knew him since.)
If you could have the starring role in any film already made, what would it be?
Black Swan
If you could receive one small package this very moment, who would it be from and what would be in it?
My father with a note saying that he loves me and that he wants to meet me. Better late than never…
If you had to choose the most valuable thing you ever learned what would it be?
A bit confusing coz there are 2. One would be ‘to be inspiring’ by Amma and the other would be that ‘God loves us, unconditionally’ by my
Senior Pastor in Kuwait.
If you wake up one day looking like Malani Fonseka what will you do?
he he.. it would be weird… I really don’t know... considering this to be Sri Lanka... Stardom doesn’t really have its value...
WHAT IS (your favourite)...
Good Luck Charm: My Lord in my heart
Person you hate the most: no one... if I were to hate people, I would have turned out to be a serial killer by now. Yet, hate is a natural feeling that pops up for seconds as soon as you’re hurt and then we have to forgive and be smart. There are times I’ve even hated myself… for not doing the right thing and for not being prudent enough.
There’s a song by The Corrs, ‘Everybody Hurts’. Its message is truly comforting.
Best thing that has happened to you: The day I got my scholarship from the ticketing course at IATA. So pls let me take this opportunity to thank my sir, Mr. Deepal Perera.
On your desk: Cross
Picture on your desktop: a wording with a sunset photograph at the background.. ‘What you want is not always what you need. God never fails to grant our petitions. So keep on going for Him without doubting or murmuring. Today’s thorns are tomorrow’s flower…’
Movie: Black Swan, Romantic Comedies, movies based on true stories or biographies
Artiste: Aamir Khan
Cars: Toyota Corolla (latest model) for daily use and Porsche convertible to fantasize about… he he..
Ice Cream: Cookies in Cream at Baskin Robins and Heaven at Elephant House
Breakfast Food: Cereal or oats... yummm
1. Pastor Jerry (senior pastor in Kuwait. Passed away last year)
2. Amma
3. My brother from another mother... J Shehan Fernando
4. Abbey (childhood friend, currently in India L )
5. No one else.. If you don’t mind let me put myself here… cause I have to say, Upeksha has been very strong in life.. and I am very proud of her…
Which ancient place would you like to go to? Jerusalem
What will you do if you have a time machine?
Go in to my future to plan my life to live it to the max OR back to the day of Adam and Eve and knock some sense into Eve’s head.
What would you like to ask from God?
Strength and wisdom to live a good and fruitful life OR hazel eyes… isn’t Aishwarya Rai pretty…?
What super power would you like to have and why?
Power to vanish... J I get too uneasy or shy sometimes… or maybe it’s called nervous… I don’t know J
What are the most embarrassing situations you have experienced?
The very 1st day I ate using cutlery. I didn’t know how to. It was at Pizza Hut. There were so many people around me… my friend had to literally switch the folk and spoon in my hand.… terrible... then I practised at home till I got sick of it…
Tell me about your recent travelling experience?
An official trip to Nepal… Was amazing… I LOVED the weather which is a bit similar to Bandarawela. It was just 3 days so we hardly slept… made friends from all around the world... Created a presentation for the convention, BY MYSELF, for the first time and turned out well... Hmmm… went to see Mount Everest for the 1st time.. he he.. it was beautiful… hmm.. Had great Nepalese food… did great shopping.. and lastly, visited this sacred temple called Pashupathi. A local told me that the very first wish made by looking at the eyes engraved on the stupa, will be granted... so hope I’ll pass my degree with honours!!

Jun 06, 2012 at 11:38 amWhat beats me is how such a seemingly religious person who mentions God several times during the interview, made up her mind to betray those who voted for her.

Jun 08, 2012 at 12:13 amShe may have gone broke after the election campaign and decided to earn a fast buck by crossing over. I wonder what that pastor in Kuwait would tell her about this betrayal.
