The great colour guru Pantone has just announced that Radiant Orchid is the colour of 2014. This new colour would seem like a tedious task to match up when it comes to combining the colour with garments and interior decor compared to its predecessor, the colour emerald which was donned as the colour of 2013.
Radiant orchid has been described as an “enchanting harmony of fuchsia, and rich purple undertones” According to Pantone, this shade of purple “inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health whilst it encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society.”
But interior decorators and designers are quite optimistic since according to them this colour has all kinds of amazing applications when it comes to interior décor, dress designs, paint trends, and more.
When discussing methods in which this colour could be complimented with other colours, the colour experts at Pantone suggests that Radiant Orchid goes quite well with olive and deeper hunter greens, and offers a gorgeous combination when paired with turquoise, teal and even light yellows and like other vivid colors, it also contrasts well with neutrals including grays and taupes.
Radiant Orchid’s rosy undertones are considered to be radiante on the skin, producing a healthy glow when worn by both men and women and of course a definite way to get attention.
With suggestions at hand why not accept this invitation this coming new year to be innovative while also being captivating to the beholder with this enchanting colour, the Radiant Orchid.
