If clothes maketh the woman then accessories maketh the outfit. It is a truth universally acknowledged and a fashion imperative that we all subscribe to, every woman needs to invest in a great pair of shoes and a knockout bag. I’ve decided to focus on bags for this article as shoes could be a subject of entire thesis and deserve an article all to themselves.

If you’re looking for a statement making high impact bag this season then the fringed bag is one of the most envy enducing coveted looks for the coming season. Think free spirited, bohemian chic. Perfect on the arm of  a woman who may not take herself too seriously but takes her trends very seriously.

The oversize bag, a personal favourite of mine, whether top handled or slung from the shoulder lets its wearer be prepared for any eventuality, much like the scouts! The bag in which you can pack everything including the kitchen sink. This is a bag that’s chic yet spacious, because who knows where the day may take you.

For the woman who wants to carry less, the versatile crossbody bag is key. At Valentino and Saint Laurent the new way of carrying it is to tuck it under your arm like a clutch or to wind the the strap around your hand, making “crossbody” an obsolete term but such is the nature of fashion!

If you’re a minimalist who can subsist on nothing more than a phone and a credit card then a micro or mini bag will appeal to your nature. Unencumbered this woman is the envy of those who can’t help carrying a hobo for every occasion.
